I initially studied at Colchester School of Art under Peter Coker and John O’Connor. Then I went to South Africa and enrolled at Johannesburg School of Art – where I was fortunate enough to be taught by Claud Van Lingen and Noel Bisseker – and my work began to capture the light and spirit of the African landscape.
Returning to England, and especially East Anglia, I have extended my palette, and my landscapes are pared-down to show colour and then design – colour an emotional response and design an intellectual one.
